    I called them at 930 this morning with my fridge making a loud noise. They had their tech here at noon and done by 115. He even went and got a part. The tech was clean and professional. Called me 15 minutes upon arrival. I definitely recommend them to everybody!

    I got this technician (Gilbert) through One Guard, my home warranty company. He had to come out twice, and was prompt, courteous and efficient both times. The second time, he noticed the replacement part they sent was broken and rescheduled the appointment, which avoided wasting his time and mine. He said he always checks parts before he brings them out, which is a good idea!

    Best appliance service company EVER. Jim's really stands behind their services. I had the waterline replaced on my fridge. The day after the ice maker stopped working, he came out and said there was ice in the feed tube and fixed it. I took out my credit card to pay and he refused to take it, even after my insistence that I need to pay him for his time. I will always use them for anything appliance related.

    David came early, did his job very well while I was able to work on my office. It was last week and fridge works great. I love the 1 fee for all fridge repairs, there's no "surprises". No parts were needed on my Samsung. I will def will use them again.

    I needed to find a reputable appliance repair company, so a quick google search led me to Jim's Appliance Repair. They had great reviews on Angie's List and Yelp so I decided go give them a try.

    When the repairman (Gilbert) arrived and later explained the power issue I was having with my dryer, I could immediately tell he knew what he was talking about. While he was fixing the dryer, he happened to notice the vent was not secured to the dryer properly and went the extra mile to get that fixed. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and got the problems fixed promptly.

    On top of this, they also happened to have a compression adapter part I needed for my fridge water line and got that knocked out too! They saved me a trip or two to Lowes. I've been recommending them to friends & family ever since! Call them for all your appliance repair needs, you won't be disappointed.

    David came out early, was very nice. Worked on my Samsung dishwasher, found in needed a new drain pump. He ordered the part.. it came in in a few days. The receptionist lady called me right away to schedule an appointment, we scheduled for Wednesday. But during the weekend, we noticed a foul smell coming from dishwasher, since drain wasn't working apparently food was sitting in dishwasher on bottom. I called left a message over weekend, got a call Monday from Kevin , i explained situation abput horrible smell and he didn't have a any cancellations but said if he did he would call me. Then a cancellation came up and he called me back to schedule for Tuesday morning first call. I will also mention that I initially got the first phone call from Kevin, when we initially scheduled the appointment. Kevin was extremely pleasant to speak to, he was so sweet with a kind voice and you can tell he was genuine about helping you and getting you scheduled. Sometimes it's hard to find a nice receptionist and one that doesn't make you feel like ypur bothering them. I just want to point that out. He seems like good employee and appreciatte him calling me back. I will write another review of my experience of the repair once the repair is fully done. This appointment was through my home warranty OneGuard, which I happen to like so far.

    Had a minor hiccup with scheduling in the beginning, but after speaking with the manager everything went well. Great customer service, she listened to my complaint without interrupting or making excuses and insisted on making it right. VERY HONEST company, the repairman came out and after a few minutes he informed me that I had misdiagnosed the problem come to find out my issue didn't even require repairs but something to do with my vent! I was so grateful that they didn't just do the repair anyway to just take my money, I definitely tell everyone about how honest they are and will recommend them to anyone.

    I've had two service calls now and each time Herman came out. He was outstanding each time. First call was a leak from the bellows intake which was promptly addressed. The second service call I asked to replace the drain pump. Herman informed me that the drain pump was a symptom. Metal was breaking off a rather important part and was expensive to fix. We might as well get a new washer given the cost. He could have replaced the pump and then I could have had a major issue a few days or weeks later. No charge for coming out although he could have done so fairly for a service call.

    Was referred to Jims by my uncle/realtor Blain Johnson @ JB Goodwin. Great customer service. Fixed my dishwasher for half the cost if not more of a new one. The dishwasher is not very old so went with repairing over replacing. Would use them again for my other appliances!

    I just had a compressor replaced in my refrigerator and was very pleased with Jim/Jim's Applicance Repair. If anyone is looking for an appliance repair, I would recommend contacting them. He was honest, on time, saved me some money by not replacing unnecessary parts that were recommended by another company and, I thought, charged a fair price for parts and labor.

    Herman the technician with Jims After Hours Appliance Repair that came today, went above and beyond to make sure I had a working refrigerator when he left. This company( Jims after hours) took a good look at all my fridge , replaced a part and even used special equipment to defrost my fridge so that I did not have to go through 24 hrs of inconvenience of unplugging my appliance. Saved me hundreds in groceries. So much better than the previous company I had called.

    The first company I had called (All Appliance Parts), came out and reached behind the fridge and pulled out a plastic plug and told me to unplug my fringe for 24 hrs. They spend less than 5 min charged me and left then refused to come out again when that didnt fix the problem.

    We've had technicians from Jim's out twice now for our fridge (different issues, same fridge).

    1. The first time, they quickly sussed out the problem and got things up and running again.

    2. The second time, they delivered the sad news that the issue at hand was a common problem for that model and, if repaired, would almost certainly need to be repaired again on an unpredictable timeline (could be a year, could be a month). They *could have* tried to selk me the repair without telling me and let me waste a sizable chunk of change on parts and labor for a temporary fix. And, I really appreciate that they instead warned me that it probably would not be worth our money to repair the refrigerator.

    I certainly hope not to need their services again anytime soon, but when I do next need repairs, I'll definitely be calling them again.

    Jim answered his phone on a Friday evening. That already puts him head and shoulders above most service companies in San Antonio. He came out on Saturday morning to work on my refrigerator, did a great job and charged a very fair price. He's a also a friendly, knowledgeable guy. I will use his company again, and I will recommend him to all my friends.

    The moving company I used damaged my front load washing machine. I had never had to look for an appliance repairman before so I was extremely apprehensive when going through the endless list of available companies. So many horror stories! Jim's was the only one I came across that didn't have a negative review. I called on a Saturday morning and Jim came out the following morning....30 mins early even. I described the knocking noises I was hearing and he went right to work. A loose hose was discovered which plugged right back into place. He could have just stopped there and took my money but he took the time to run the machine to make sure all the strange noises were resolved. When the test run still produced the extra noise he went digging further. Turns out I had one broken shock and one cracked one. He only charged me cost (vs retail price) on the parts plus his $90 flat labor rate. My total bill was more than 50% less than what I would have paid a dept store service center.

    Had another opportunity to use their services when the condensing unit fan motor on my fridge started going out. Gilbert, Jim's son, came out this time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and the part needed. He was able to get the part same day and was then back out to the house to get it installed. Speedy, honest and competent service. I couldn't possibly ask for anything more. Fridge is now nice and quiet again.

    Jim & his wife were very helpful throughout this long drawnout ordeal because my kenmore built in oven's parts have been discontinued. Jim came out, took the part out, told me where to send it to get the part rebuilt, and after I got it back, he came out to fix it. he only charged me for the one trip (out of 3) to install and it was $102. very reasonable. the part itself was $150. so they saved me money on every step, very courteous & on time. I will use them again.

    I've used Jim Sosa and his son to do no less that four repairs on appliances in our home and, most recently, at a rental property I own in town. (Microwave, cooktop, and two different dishwashers) He's always prompt and efficient and stands behind his work, going out of his way to satisfy the customer. He managed to get the manufacturer to pay to replace a defective part they had provided to him and reinstalled it at no charge to me. He's great at diagnosing problems and provides superior service and excellent advice. And his wife Rosa, who handles the appointments and messages is just as friendly and helpful. I'm cancelling my Home Warranty and just hiring Jim when I need a repair instead of rolling the dice on whether or not the company the Warranty provider sends can figure out the problem.

    I was apprehensive about finding someone to repair my microwave, so much so that I waited 10 months before looking. By then, I also needed someone to repair my dryer. I wish I had called Jim's last January!

    Gilbert was prompt, polite, and thorough. He called before coming, arrived a few minutes after calling, and explained the repair options and warranty. He came back 2 days later with the necessary parts to complete the necessary repairs.

    The office personnel that I spoke with was friendly, polite and helpful.

    I will definitely use Jim's again if the need arises, and I recommend them to anyone needing a repair.

    Just wanted to share a good experience I had.

    On Sunday afternoon, my tenant told me the dryer had stopped working. In looking for a dryer repair person, I called Jim's "After Hours" Appliance Repair. I left a voice mail on Sunday, and Jim's assistant called me back first thing Monday morning. She set up an appointment for 10 a.m. Tuesday and said that Gilbert would come out and given an estimate.

    The assistant herself seemed very knowledgeable about dryers. She said that Gilbert would diagnose the repair needs for the dryer and provide a cost. If we decided NOT to use Jim' service for the repair, then we would be charged only $35 for the visit. If we went ahead with whatever repair was recommended, the service call would be free.

    In the meantime, I figured out that Lowe's was having a sale and could deliver a brand new dryer and haul the old one away on Tuesday afternoon (amazing!), so I canceled the repair appointment. (I got to thinking that it might be a couple hundred dollars to repair the old dryer, and I'd rather put that money toward buying a new one, since I had wanted a new dryer anyway.)

    If you're in need of home appliance repair in San Antonio, you might want to give these folks a call. They seemed very professional!

    Very pleased. I called, and the businesslike lady on the phone got right to it. Our oven wasn't working (never use a self clean feature on any oven, they're quite problematic across all brands).

    It wasn't really an emergency, so we set an appointment the next day. The tech called in advance, and arrived timely. Kind, courteous, clean and professional. Diagnosed the problem, ordered the replacement part, and installed it the next day. Checked on a slight fridge leak while he was there, no extra charge.

    I would use them again, but I hope I don't have to.

    I had a broken refrigerator and started looking on Yelp. Jim's came highly recommended and I had a fantastic experience with them too. I left a VM and was called back within 10 minutes to confirm pricing and schedule an appointment (next day at noon). David (our tech) called ahead of time to confirm arrival and my wife said he was very courteous and professional. Additionally, he went out of his way to get the repair completed same-day (had to go get a part) as we were leaving town the next day. Then, Rebecca called a couple days after the repair to ensure everything was working well and we were satisfied. I was extremely satisfied with my experience and the pricing for the work. I highly recommend them and if I ever have another need, I will definitely be calling Jim's!!!

    What a great business. First contact was with Rosa, who quickly scheduled a visit from David to fix my broken gas cooktop. David was very professional and put in an order for a few parts. Once they realized one of the parts wouldn't be available, I got a call. They were very apologetic, but honestly, this is an older appliance that came with the house :(

    Being in the service industry myself(automobile service) I know what excellent service is and should be. Gilbert the technician came to my house and diagnosed my dishwasher in a matter of minutes. He was straight forward, honest and took care of my appliance as if it was his own. He had my dishwasher back up and running perfectly. This coming from someone that hates doing dishes by hand, I sincerely appreciate his efforts. Hats off to Jim's appliance repair for their professional dedication to excellent service and care of their customers.

    I used Jim's for the second time earlier this month (DEC '15) to replace a washing machine pump and a broken element in our glass-top range. I first used them a few months ago to look at the same washing machine and after they found no issues was charged $37.89 which is/was incredibly reasonable. In fact, I honestly thought that this rate was too low for them to stay in business.

    When I called them more recently, they had perhaps come to the same conclusion and outlined for me a much different rate structure over the phone. They still charge a reasonable rate to come out and diagnose a problem, but should you choose to move forward with the repair they charge a flat $145. They will also charge an additional $50 for any additional appliance repairs. So this made the Labor portion of my bill $195 for two approximately hour long visits. They did need to order the part for the range, and offered to return the following day to replace the pump, and then return again to repair the range for the same $195. I advised them just to come back when they had all the parts needed and do it in one trip instead of two. I can't help but think that their new rate might in fact place them on the high side in terms of hourly labor rate.

    On the flip side, they do not markup parts (I verified that through my own research) and the customer service in scheduling, professionalism of the receptionist and repairman, and willingness to ensure customer satisfaction is exemplary - second to none. Gilbert was my repairman both times and is eager to share knowledge and go the extra mile. For example, I asked him how I could remove a roach that had somehow wedged itself behind the door window of the range. He explained where I would need to remove the screws to get it out. He took the liberty of doing this work himself much to my surprise while I was distracted tending to the children.

    So all in all I am a big fan of Jim's and give them five stars with the caveat to be informed of their fee structure. I will likely use them again, however I might shop around to ensure that their labor rates are competitive. I doubt anyone can best their service.

    Great customer service! Extremely reasonably priced! My Maytag dryer is over 20 years old and stopped tumbling. A few years ago I had another popular appliance company come out to service it and it cost us 1/3 of the price of the dryer to fix. So I was a little nervous about what they would charge to fix it. To my pleasant surprise, they specialized in old appliances, and had the part they needed in the truck!!! It was also half of what I was prepared to pay. They were prompt and on time. Gilbert was quick and polite and courteous. I even received a follow-up phone call from the office to inquire how my service went. I've been on a winning streak lately with great companies...lets hope it continues. Highly recommend.

    Great experience. I left a message inquiring about a dryer repair. They called me back promptly. The lady on the phone scheduled me for a time window and explained their service fees. I liked that they were up front with their pricing, the technician called me the day of the appointment and gave me a two hour time window. He called me when he was on his way and he arrived on time.     I have a home warranty (One Guard) and my oven quit preheating. They used Jim's After Hours to do the repairs. Two weeks ago a tech comes out to repair the oven. He replaces the burner. This seems to fix the issue, however the oven quits working and I am having the same issue as before. Jim's came out today and turns out there is a bad computer board that needs to be replaced.

    I believe Jim's After Hours is a good appliance repair contractor. I was a little frustrated they didn't fix the issue the first time around, however this could happen to anyone and it wasn't obvious it was a bad computer board initially. Overall i would recommend them. I'll be glad when my oven is fixed.

    This is the second time that we have used Jims for our appliances. The first time it was for the washing machine and the second time it was for the dryer and dishwasher. I have always appreciated how honest and timely they are and how they give you a very detailed estimate so you can decide if you want to go new or have them repair. The first time we had them repair and they really know what they're doing- I have 100% confidence in the repair to this day it is working.     Jim's Appliance repair did everything right. The person who set the appointment was professional articulate friendly and told me exactly what to expect. My husband says the repairman was the most professional repairman he has seen in years - and we've seen a lot of them! The repairman called ahead, arrived on time, quickly identified the problem that 2 other companies had failed to diagnose, he was cheerful and polite, he explained the situation clearly and actually FIXED the problem for exactly the price that was quoted. He fixed my washer and my freezer. Very reasonable and fast. I did have to set my appointment 2 days in advance but that was fine. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

    This my 2nd experience with these amazing people. They are up front about all prices and don't try to pressure you to do anything you are not comfortable with. They came out for the same appliance, my washer, different problem. He found a loose connection, fixed it, told me I didn't need to buy a $150 part right now and didn't charge me a thing because they had just serviced the machine in August. Jim told me if I changed my mind he would come back with the part and there would be no labor charge. The last tech that came was just as respectful and caring. So if we are rating 1-10, I give them an 11 for going out of their way to please me.

    FANTASTIC is an understatement. Our 8-year Whirpool refrigerator/freezer's went bad because of a bad start switch. The entire visit, part and labor would have been about $150, but once a new switch was installed, we noticed that the days the refrigerator was trying to cool the system with the bad switch damaged the compressor. Now the damage was going to soar over $500, and it didn't make economical sense to fix it when for 45-50% more we could buy a new one. Jim's awesome technician only charged the $58 initial visit. Notwithstanding, I asked him to take a look at my washing machine drum before he departed (for a problem I had not called the company for), and he gladly and eagerly took a look on it, fixed the drum with his own parts and did not charge me anything. While the parts were not that expensive, the labor was a little challenging trying to align the parts on a cylinder. I felt so bad I could not even give him a tip because all I had was my credit card and no cash. He told me not to worry but to keep them in mind for future repairs. Are you kidding me? Of course I will! I'm not even going to buy an extended warranty with the next refrigerator ---- I'm just going to call them for preventive maintenance before some the parts' life cycle reach their end.

    I called Jim's After Hours Appliance Repair to work on an ice maker that quit working. They were very prompt and courteous setting up an appointment the next day. By some miracle my ice maker starting a few hours before my scheduled service call. I called Jim's and again they were very courteous and told me that they wee glad it started working and cancelled the service call with no problems. I can not comment on their work, but from the way they treated their customer I will sure call them the next time I have an appliance issue.

    After our house took a lightning strike nearby the surge affected my LG Washing Machine. Since I had an error code that I couldn't fix I decided to call Jim's because I suppor local San Antonio small businesses and the company had great reviews here on Yelp. I wasn't disappointed.

    Jim's response time was the next working day. The kind receptionist took my request and told me that Jim would call around 7:30 the morning he was coming and then 30 minutes before his arrival. Both of these were true and he arrived within the agreed upon window of time.

    Jim and his employee diagnosed the problem quickly but had to order a part. After determining the closest part was in Dallas he planned to come back in 2-3 days. The next day I got a call that he had the part! He had found it locally and was ready to install it. His response time twice in back-to-back days was amazing and the washer is as good as new. He is reasonably priced as labor was around $100 for the work.

    Best service at 1/2 the price of Lowe's. I will never use anyone else. Tech was friendly and knowledgeable. I call them for the washer and he didn't charge for a system reset and then looked at the ice maker and bid to repair it. $400 instead of the $800 bid from Lowe's and Lowe's charged $97 for the bid.
    I always fix my own appliances but no more. Use Jim's you will be glad you did.

    I had one of the technicians come out to check out my nearly 11 yr old dryer (a whirlpool duet), that started malfunctioning. The man that came by advised me that the cost to fix it would be more expensive than to replace the dryer and even advised me on a more durable/replacement cost effective type of dryer to get as a replacement. I was glad to be given good, and reasonable advice, and not be given a pitch to sell me something unpractical or taken advantage of by an unscrupulous person. If I need repairs/diagnosis for any appliances in the future, I will call them, without hesitation.

    Unfortunately my dishwasher wouldn't turn on and I was hoping it could be saved. Jim's on time answered my call promptly and set up an appointment. It is a flat fee of $45 to check out the dishwasher, then you can decide if the recommendations are needed. The technician was on time and professional. After assessing the dishwasher he explained that the repairs would be over $400, so it would be a better idea to replace it. They also install dishwashers for $129, which is less than the big box stores. I would definitely use this company again when needed.

    I am very impressed with this company. The office staff (Rosa) who took my call was pleasant and helpful. Everything she said would happen, actually happened. My ten year old Whirlpool Duet washer was leaking water. She scheduled an appointment for the following morning. She told me that the technician would call me in the morning to let me know what time he would be out. David, the technician did call. We was exactly on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and said he would be out the next day with the new part. He came out as promised, He repaired the washer quickly and allowed me to get on with my day. Very professional. The rates are very reasonable. You cannot go wrong with this company. Call them.

    Our appointment was 9:00AM for a washing machine. Jim was here on time. He diagnosed our problem in less than 5 minutes. I have a tendency to exaggerate occasionally but it really was less than 5 minutes...and he was gone before 9:30. We had already discussed the charges which were more than fair. I will recommend this company to others and I will definitely call them again.

    I've had two service calls now and each time Herman came out. He was outstanding each time. First call was a leak from the bellows intake which was promptly addressed. The second service call I asked to replace the drain pump. Herman informed me that the drain pump was a symptom. Metal was breaking off a rather important part and was expensive to fix. We might as well get a new washer given the cost. He could have replaced the pump and then I could have had a major issue a few days or weeks later. No charge for coming out although he could have done so fairly for a service call.

    I just had a compressor replaced in my refrigerator and was very pleased with Jim/Jim's Applicance Repair. If anyone is looking for an appliance repair, I would recommend contacting them. He was honest, on time, saved me some money by not replacing unnecessary parts that were recommended by another company and, I thought, charged a fair price for parts and labor.

    Top-notch service!!! We have used Jim's After Hour Appliance Repair twice, once for our dishwasher and recently for our washer machine. The dishwasher would not drain completely and the troubleshooting Guide that came with it was useless. Called Jim’s after seeing one of his work vans in our neighborhood a few times; figured if other people are calling on him repeatedly he must be good. Jim came out on-time and was able to quickly identify and fix the problem. When we moved to a different neighborhood and started having trouble with the washer, I immediately called Jim’s. His technician, Gilbert came out and initially thought it was the R.P.S sensor, although he did not readily have the part and could not obtain one until Monday (this was a Saturday after 1:00 p.m.) he did not charge us and returned on Monday with the part. However, the real problem turned out to the bearing and again we had to order the part, again he did not charge us and Jim was able to return and replace the bearing. Jim’s prices are reasonable and you never feel you are being taken advantage of (rare these days). Jim and his technicians are honest, well trained, reliable, prompt, and courteous…. Highly recommend!
